Scientific Committee Proposal

 Aim:

• Improve the quality of dental care services in Bahrain by improving professional knowledge.

Goals & Objectives: 

• Promote continuing education and keeping up to date in dental development in a way to break the daily routine.

• Create a meeting point for local dentists to exchange knowledge & experience in series of lectures and workshops.

• Provide attendance certificates after every educational event stating the approved accreditation hours (Verified CPD) by the Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Bahrain, to encourage continue education among dentists and dental care professionals.

• Develop a dental library with electronic access to international journals and articles for BDS members.

• Conduct a continuing educational program in Bahrain for BDS members & non-members for the year 2008-2009 that will include:

§  Monthly /Bimonthly lectures.

§  Workshops.

§  The coming Bahrain Dental conference 2009.

§ Biannual Newsletter: continue issuing the BDS Newsletter & work on developing it into a journal.

• Develop the Scientific Committee link on the BDS website by providing the scientific activities & yearly program timetable on the website.

• Cooperate with Oral Health Services Department in the Ministry of Health of Bahrain to improve the continue dental education program & the level of dental services in Bahrain.

• Encourage & promote scientific dental research.
